METHOD FOR PERFORMING TRACHEAL ANASTOMOSIS Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying single sutures over the fibrous cartilaginous part of trachea and later on the membranous one. Extensive resection taking place (more than 8-9 semirings involved), single relaxation sutures are applied on the boundaries of fibrous cartilaginous part of the anastomosis using the following access paths: lateral thoracotomous path, sternotomous one (longitudinal and longitudinally transverse), combined one. Then blanket relaxation suture is put in all over the whole membranous wall of tracheal fragments to be anastomosed using some suture material like prolene and pulling the relaxation sutures. The first relaxation suture is tied and the whole fibrous cartilaginous part of the anastomosis is formed using sutures of the like kind. Then membranous wall of the anastomosis is opposed and sealed by pulling the ends of blanket relaxation suture and binding the ends of the ligatures with those of the first guiding sutures. EFFECT: prevented inconsistency of anastomosis.
