SUBSTANCE: method of making wire for metallic cord comprises steps of descaling rod and drawing it in rough drawbenches; drawing blank had been received in medium drawbenches, and then in fine drawbenches; realizing deforming of conversion blank in medium drawbenches with alternation of processes of drawing and sign-variable tension bending normalizing elongation factor at tension bending as well as degree of total reduction of wire between steps of bending it. According to such normalizing drums of first, fourth and seventh units of drawbench are double-die ones with normalized ratio of diameters of dies.
