FIELD: large thickness part welding in instrument making, radioelectronic industry, machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for laser welding includes ellipsoidal reflector, gas-discharge lamp, arranged in focal point of reflector; laser irradiation source, arranged outside reflector. That reflector has insert in the form of ring with ellipsoidal reflecting surface placed in zone of projection of laser irradiation source beam. Axis of laser beam crosses axis of reflector in zone of lamp arc discharge in such a way, that crossing point of beams coincides with nearest focal point of insert. At using gas lasers with wave length equal to 10.6 micrometers the above mentioned insert and laser are arranged between socket of lamp and working focus of reflector. EFFECT: enhanced quality of welded seams of large-thickness parts. 3 cl, 2 dwg
