FIELD: mining industry, particular, methods and facilities for performance of rescue operations. SUBSTANCE: unit for driving workings through goaf has screw-turning tunnelling machine with head and tail sections, support and movable power unit. Support is made from flexible strips arranged in form of telescopic spiral and two sleeves, one of which is secured to the end of one of extreme coil of spiral and has brackets for fixation in the working and the other is secured to the end of the other extreme coil of spiral and made with bayonet grooves. Each coil of flexible strip in spiral has stop from one side, and grooves for stopes from the other side. Tail section of tunneling machine has joining module for turning to connect with sleeve which has bayonet grooves. Joining module is made in form of coaxial holders with bodies of revolution between them and radial pins on the internal holder for entering the bayonet grooves on support sleeve.
