MANGUST POWDER-TYPE FIRE EXTINGUISHER Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: transport facilities, household conditions in fighting of small fire or fire at initial stage. SUBSTANCE: MANGUST powder-type fire extinguisher has cylindrical body with discharge branch pipe provided with powder sprayer, gas generator with starting system and cylindrical chamber having hole for discharge of generated gases. Novelty consists in that gas generator is located in the upper part of chamber and is made in form of gas generating compound with percussion cap; besides, starting system is made in form of striker engageable with cap and fixed relative to body cover. Splitter of generator gases is located in lower part of chamber and provided with expanded hollows in gas flow direction. Installed on internal surface of body bottom is deflector of generated gases. Inlet hole of discharge branch pipe located in body upper part is separated from body hollow by means of bypass diaphragm with holes smaller in diameter than diameter of minimal internal discharge branch pipe.
