METHOD OF DETERMINATION OF FRICTION FACTOR OF ELASTIC MATERIAL IN CIRCUMFERENTIAL DIRECTION Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: study of materials. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to field of examination of mechanical characteristics of elastic materials used in mechanical engineering and instrumentation. After filling of clearance between shaft 1 and bushing 2 with studs 6 and packing 4 from examined material grand box 5 is put. Calibrated springs 7 are put on studs 6 and are fixed with nuts 8. Axial effort on packing 4 is determined by value of compression of springs 7. Revolutions created by electric motor are transmitted via shaft 1 to packing 4 and are registered by electric tachometer. Angular movement of packing 4 are determined by deviations of pendulum 13 from vertical line with the aid of electron movement meter. Kinematic friction factor in circumferential direction is found by formula fк= G•l•sinα/2πr2•P*r
