METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF POSTOPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS AFTER HERNIOTOMY IN DISTANT POST-OPERATIVE PERIOD Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B8/00 A61B5/107

Abstract RU 2644938 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: for prediction of postoperative complications after herniotomy with implant placement in the long-term period, ultrasound examination of the surgical intervention area is carried out 6 months after the operation. The thickness of the fibrous capsule around the mesh implant is determined and at a thickness less than or equal to 0.3 cm a calm course of the wound process is predicted. With a capsule thickness more than 0.3 cm a complication in the form of inflammatory change in the soft tissues and preservation or development of pain syndrome are predicted.

EFFECT: method improves the accuracy of prediction of postoperative complications development in the distant period, which allows timely taking adequate measures to stop the inflammatory process.
