FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: heat accumulator has heat insulated housing filled with heat accumulating material, e.g. polyethylene. The phase transition of the material is in the working temperature limits. The heat accumulator also has two separate passageways. Passageway 4 serves for flowing exhaust gases in charging. The other passageway is made up as tube bank 5 used for flowing fluid from the cooling system. The passageway is sloped over the whole length from the inlet end to the outlet end. Additional tank 12 and two-position three-stroke valve 9 underlie housing 1 of the heat accumulator. The valve is connected with the bottom (outlet) end of the second valve, tank 12, cooling system loop, and locking system. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 2 dwg
