FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the start-up of internal combustion engines. A method of heating an internal combustion engine with liquid cooling, during operation of the engine, the heat accumulating substance of the heat accumulator is heated from the exhaust gases heat to a temperature higher than the boiling point of the liquid, according to the invention, during operation of the engine by means of closing the thermal contacts of the heat valve, the heat from the engine exhaust gases is sent to heat up heat accumulating substance and heat accumulating substance is heated to a temperature, close to the temperature of the exhaust gases; after charging, the thermal connection between the heat accumulating substance and the exhaust gases is broken by opening the thermal contacts of the heat valve and stored in a vacuum-insulated thermally insulated container; when the engine is heated, the circulation of the liquid through the heat accumulator is activated by closing the thermal contacts of the heat valve, a thermal connection is established between the heat accumulating substance and the circulating coolant by warming up the engine. A device for heating an internal combustion engine, containing a coolant, a pump for supplying liquid to the heat accumulator, a gas channel from the exhaust manifold to the heat accumulator, a heat accumulating unit with a heat accumulating substance, the heat accumulating unit being mounted on the movable rod and located in the inner vacuum-insulated thermo-insulated capacitance of the heat accumulator body and is equipped in the upper part of its body with a thermal contact-seat of the heat transfer valve from the heat accumulating substance to the coolant, and in the lower part it is equipped with the contact part of the heat transfer valve from the exhaust gases to the heat accumulating substance, in the lower part of the battery case there is a gas chamber with gas supply and discharge to the thermal contact-seat of the heat transfer valve from the exhaust manifold, equipped with the heat contact-seat of the heat transfer valve from the exhaust gases to the heat accumulating substance, in the upper part of the battery case there is a liquid chamber with the contact part of the heat transfer valve from the heat accumulating substance to the coolant, and the movable rod provides the installation of the heat storage unit in three positions: "Charging", "storage", "heating".
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in operational safety, an increase in the service life and heat storage time.
