FIELD: combustion of blast-furnace/coke gas mixture in furnaces of sintering and roasting machines for uniform firing and heating charge throughout entire length of traveling-grate sintering machine. SUBSTANCE: burner has rectangular case 1 whose slit-type space mounts tubular gas header 2 and tubular air header 3 arranged over its entire length, coaxially in respect to case, in tandem. Gas header 2 is provided with gas-escape nozzles 4 uniformly facing its axis and placed in bottom part of header over its entire length in several longitudinal rows, spaced minimum 15 deg. and maximum 90 deg. apart; nozzles project outside of air header through holes in the latter over distance making up maximum half and minimum one third of clearance between gas and air headers. Gas-escape nozzles are arranged in each row at equal and relatively uniform pitch. Holes 5 are provided in bottom part of air header; they are radially directed to its axis and are arranged in longitudinal rows between those of gas-escape nozzles and about their extreme rows, and also in rows of gas-escape nozzles in gas between them. Number of holes in longitudinal rows aligned with rows of gas- escape nozzles is twice as small as in rows located between those of gas-escape nozzles and about extreme rows. Gas-escape nozzles and holes for air escape are arranged both between each other and in staggered manner to each other. Gas-escape nozzles of extreme rows are inclined through angle coinciding with lower edges of side walls of burner slit-type case.
