FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves synthesis of alcohols and saturated hydrocarbons by hydrogenation of aldehydes and unsaturated hydrocarbons. Product: C₂-C₁₅-alcohols or saturated hydrocarbons. Reagent 1: C₂-C₁₅-aldehydes or unsaturated hydrocarbons. Reaction conditions: reagent 1 is subjected for continuous hydrogenation in the system of sequentially connected hydrogenation zones in the presence of solid heterogeneous catalyst. Hydrogenation system consists of the sequentially connected first and second hydrogenation zones in which of them catalyst is loaded; in the upper part of the first hydrogenation zone hydrogen-containing gas flow is fed continuously from the bottom part of the second hydrogenation zone with liquid phase containing (C₂-C₁₅)-aldehyde or unsaturated hydrocarbon dissolved in solvent that is compatible with it; liquid phase is passed down through the first hydrogenation zone. Intermediate product is removed continuously from the bottom part of the 1-st zone to the upper part of the second zone of hydrogenation where parental hydrogen is fed also.
