FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to versions of a method of producing aldehydes. In one embodiments of the method, the olefin compound, carbon monoxide and hydrogen react in the presence of a solubilised rhodium-phosphorous complex, the method comprising: (a) obtaining a vaporous aldehyde product stream downstream of the hydroformylation reactor, wherein said vapour aldehyde product stream contains aldehydes, a phosphorous ligand and aldehyde condensation by-products; (b) bringing the vaporous aldehyde product stream into contact with a partial condenser for condensing the phosphorous ligand and said by-products, while condensing to 10 wt. % of vapour-like stream; (c) removing the condensed phosphorous ligand and condensed by-products from the liquid condensed stream using the stripping column; and (d) further treatment of vaporous aldehydes exiting the separate stripping column.
EFFECT: disclosed versions of the method accelerate the removal from the hydroformylation system of aldehyde heavy fractions as they form to avoid accumulation with simultaneous control of the level of the organophosphorus ligand in the flow of the aldehyde product.
