FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: solid-state laser safe for eyes has optically coupled pumping system, active element of neodymium- containing crystal, cavity formed by semitransparent output mirror and extreme mirror fully radiating at lasing wavelength. Novelty is that active element of neodymium- containing crystal, where section ratio of forced transition at wavelength safe for eyes to forced transition at competiting wavelength of 1.06 is minimum 0.085 and maximum 1, contains, in addition, chromium in the form of ions Cr4+ and/or Cr3+ in its crystal; active element may be made of gadolinium-gallium garnet crystal. EFFECT: improved safety in operation. 3 cl, 1 dwg
