FIELD: laser engineering; solid-state lasers operating in cavity Q-factor modulation mode. SUBSTANCE: laser has optical cavity accommodating active crystal element and Q-factor modulator; active element is made of material converting radiation wavelength across laser transition into Stokes components; cavity is formed by blind mirror that fully reflects beams with wavelength of first Stokes component and transmits most of beams with wavelengths corresponding to idle transitions of active element, output mirror that fully reflects beams generated at laser transition wavelength of active element partially transmitting beams at wavelength of first Stokes component and fully transmitting beams at wavelengths corresponding to idle transitions of active element and second Stokes component. Q- factor modulator is built around optoelectric element and polarizer or around saturable filter whose relaxation time is more than an order of magnitude longer than cavity patrol time and which passes beams at first Stokes component wavelength. EFFECT: improved operating reliability. 1 dwg
