FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: dependence of endurance limit on plastic elongation is obtained using pump rods that was in operation. In straightening the loading at the stage of plastic deformation and control of residual plastic deformation are performed in accordance with the required plastic elongation defined by the maximum value of the endurance limit for a given rod from the relationship obtained previously. As soon as the required plastic elongation is achieved the load is eliminated and straightening is completed. EFFECT: improved quality of straightening. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
