SUBSTANCE: plasma generator for treatment of metals and alloys has working gas supply system, insulator and electrodes one of which is output electrode 4 provided with inner channel. Plasma generator has working gas flow converter 5 connected with output electrode 4 and forming, together with electrode, variable section internal channel. End face surface 6 of gas flow converter is made to suit surface of article to be treated. Plasma generator provides uniform hardening of article. EFFECT: increased efficiency. 1 dwg
