FIELD: precision instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention deals with contactless suspension of ferromagnetic bodies with spherical bearing surfaces by forces of electromagnetic field, for instance, suspension of rotor of gyroscope. Stator of magnetic suspension has poles of spherical surface in zone of interaction of stator with suspended spherical body and coils of electromagnets arranged on its poles. Poles of stator has shape formed by sections of side surfaces of two coaxial round cones which vertexes are similarly oriented along symmetry axis of stator. Angle by vertex of cone forming external surfaces is bigger than corresponding angle of cone forming internal surfaces. Side surfaces of each pole are formed by crossing planes so arranged that figure limited by two arcs and two lengths of straight line crossing any section at one and same angle is formed in any section of pole normal relative to direction of putting of coil of electromagnet on it. Lengths of straight lines are positioned in symmetry on opposite side of symmetry axis of section of pole. Such configuration of stator displays increased carrying capability.
