FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: main part of reactor vessel is made from steel grades most suited to operating conditions. Vessel must be assembled of components made of different grades of steel: bottom and core shells are to be made of steel 15X2MFA affording long service life with respect to radiation embrittlement resistance while pipe connection section shells, of steel 15XNMFA noted for high brittle fracture resistance in thick blanks under emergency cooling conditions. These blanks made of different grades of steel should be welded together by using welding materials and methods affording flaw-free joint. Intermediate tempering is conducted after welding two different-steel parts under conditions used for steel less resistant to tempering. Final tempering is conducted under conditions suited for steel more resistant to tempering upon anticorrosion facing of welded joints of two different steels. EFFECT: improved quality of reactor vessel. 2 tbl
