FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recovering thermal treatment of casings of water-water power reactors and is aimed at increasing their endurance and operating safety. Experimental results are presented regarding recovery of hardness and critical temperature of material shortness in dependence on temperature and tempering time as well as efficiency in recovering steel and its weld seam metal irradiated with fluency 8•1019 neutr/sq.cm (E ≥ 0.5 MeV) resulted from tempering in accordance with method of invention. EFFECT: achieved appropriateness of method to various objects subjected to neutron irradiation.
