FIELD: acceleration engineering; cylindrical betatrons. SUBSTANCE: introduced in addition in extractor are controlled valve 10 and winding 9 whose first lead is connected to anodes of controlled valves 6 and 5 of inverter and second lead is connected to cathode of additional controlled valve 10 whose anode is connected to cathodes of controlled valves 3 and 4 of inverter. Bias winding 7 with controlled valve 8 and magnetizing winding 2 are connected in parallel with storage capacitor 1. With two windings 2 and 9 running simultaneously, charged particles keep accelerating and are compressed in axial direction. Beam is shaped at point of bias winding location. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities due to time variation of magnetic field pattern. 4 dwg
