FIELD: acceleration engineering. SUBSTANCE: accelerator that may be used to produce charged-particle beams or bremsstrahlung with energy of several hundreds of keV to 10 MeV and higher has magnetizing windings, acceleration chamber with injector, and switch-mode power supplies. Single-turn magnetizing winding used to build up controlling magnetic field is made in the form of two concentric cylindrical rings assembled of conducting (such as copper) strips with radial split; strips are interconnected on one side of split and connected to unlike poles of switch-mode power supply on its other side. Strips are bent out so that their convex section occurs outside ring axis. On edges strips are joined by means of circular insulating packings and winding that builds up accelerating electromagnetic field is concentrically mounted inside ring formed by single-turn magnetizing winding and connected to separate switch-mode power supply. Injector may be installed at any desired point of insulating ring. EFFECT: simplified design, facilitated manufacture, reduced size and weight, and enhanced efficiency of accelerator. 1 cl, 1 dwg
