FIELD: synthesis of halogen alkyls. SUBSTANCE: synthesis is carried out in large (3 or more moles) excess of hydrogen chloride in two steps. At first step saturated solution of hydrogen chloride is produced in aqueous methanolic mixture, the resulting solution is then heated to 106-110 C and gaseous hydrogen chloride liberates. In order to use excess hydrogen chloride, stillage residue is recycled to saturation unit. EFFECT: increased yield of chloromethyl and suppressed dimethyl ether formation reaction. 2 cl
