FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: two streams of coolant are built up simultaneously in pool reactor core, one heated to temperature lower than 100 C and other, to much higher temperature than 100 C for its conversion into steam for power generation; reactor safety in case of burst rather high volume of cool water of pool will reduce its temperature; nuclear reactor is provided with steam generator and steam separator; each fuel assembly of at least one peripheral row of fuel assemblies of core is enclosed in individual pressurized vessel holding pressurized water; its walls are heat-insulated; height of each vessel is greater than that of core; steam generators are installed one per each pressurized vessel in top part and communicated with steam separator. EFFECT: improved safety in operation. 3 cl, 2 dwg
