FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: core cooling system and reactor reflector comprise a core and a reflector arranged in a reactor pool filled with a coolant. The core and reflector are placed in a housing in form of a box with two cowlings and a bottom support grid with openings. The core is situated in the inner cowling of the housing and the reflector is situated in the outer cowling. The height of the inner cowling is selected based on a condition of providing a coolant flow rate through natural circulation enabling the core to cool down without exceeding allowable temperature values of fuel cell cladding.
EFFECT: enabling core and reflector cooling in emergency situations.
