METHOD OF MAKING TUBULAR CORRUGATED PARTS AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, namely, production of tubular corrugated parts, mainly, pulley rims. SUBSTANCE: invention allows to enhance accuracy of parts made form thin-wall tubular blank and to simplify process of forming V-shaped grooves due to step-by-step shaping at simultaneously applying radial and axial efforts and sizing in closed contour. Apparatus for performing the method includes driven disc chuck, changeable intermediate and sizing rollers, mechanism for axially compressing blank. Rollers are placed inside and outside blank. Disc blank includes radially moving cams rigidly connected with adapter carrying posts for inner rollers. Inner rollers and adapter are built-up ones, they are centered with use of mandrel mounted with possibility of rotation synchronously with rollers and with possibility of axial motion.
