FIELD: mechanical engineering; size electromechanical treatment at pulsed cyclic mode with optimization of process. SUBSTANCE: first check treatment cycle is carried out at preset electrode gap by supplying definite number of current pulses npcheck of preset power and frequency to fixed electrodes. Value of linear increment δ of electrode gap in values of electrode discrete feeding is measured and current capacity Qcur=δ/npcheck is calculated. During working cycles carried out after check cycle discrete working shifts of electrode at supply of current pulses and maneuvering shifts, without current, by moving the electrode until it touches the part and then moving it away to provided working gap, are performed. Mean electrode feed speed per cycle of discrete shift, number of working pulses per cycle and number of working discrete shifts per cycle are calculated by formulae given in description of invention. Simultaneously, number of current pulses per working cycle is increased successively, keeping the summary number of maneuvering shifts (moving electrode to and from workpiece) constant. During each working cycle final gap is measured and if its size exceed preset size determined during check cycle, new check cycle is carried out. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 cl, 3 dwg
