FIELD: recovery of exhausted lubricating oils. SUBSTANCE: in a process of recovery of transformer oil including removal of oil from transformer, vacuum drying and degasification, filtration is performed through anisotropic membrane barrier with pore size not exceeding 5 mcm and using mutually perpendicular directions of nonpurified and purified oil streams, and, in vacuum drying and degasification processes, vacuum region is distributed all over the filtration surface from the side of purified oil. In an apparatus containing feed pump, filter, circulation pump, and vacuum unit including a chamber, vacuum pump, pipelines, pressure gauges, and valves, the filter is made in the form of a bundle of tubular anisotropic membranes with pore size not greater than 5 mcm and is disposed in the vacuum unit chamber, nonpurified oil outlet being connected with filter inlet through controlling valve with pressure gauge.
