FIELD: production of cadmium compounds. SUBSTANCE: cadmium oxide is prepared through electrochemically oxidizing cadmium with half-wave-rectification oscillating current with amplitude density 1.0-4.0 A/sq.cm and industrial frequency in 0.5-8.0 mol/cu.dm of potassium hydroxide solution at 25-35 C followed by separation, washing out, drying, and calcination of cadmium oxide precipitate at 800-850 C. EFFECT: material applicable to fabricating cadmium electrodes obtained. 1 tbl
