FIELD: evaluation of corrosion resistance of metals and alloys in corrosive media. SUBSTANCE: method measuring corrosion rate of metals and alloys consists in placement of specimen in corrosive medium, in measurement of potential of corrosion, in application of constant potential equal to potential of corrosion to specimen, in change of rate of coupled cathode reaction thanks to change of velocity of flowing of corrosive medium around specimen with constant concentration of depolarizer, in keeping specimen in corrosive medium till value of current reaches steady-state, in measurement of value of this current, in maintenance of value of potential applied to specimen equal to -0.55 V, in measurement of steady-state values of limit currents under changed and initial modes of flowing of corrosive medium around specimen, in determination of corrosion current by three measured values of currents by computation and in passing judgment on corrosion rate of specimen by value of corrosion current. EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of determination of corrosion rate, widened application field of method, enhanced adaptability of method.
