FIELD: electrical engineering; welding; source of welding current providing wide range of control of external current-voltage characteristics and leakage inductive reactance. SUBSTANCE: transformer has magnetic circuit made up of two cores on which primary winding divided into non-equal portion is fitted. Bigger portion of winding (75-85%) is arranged in first core, and smaller portion (15-25%) on second core. Secondary winding is also divided into non-equal parts. Smaller portion of secondary winding (15-25%) is fitted on fist core, and bigger portion (75-85%), on second core. Taps of primary winding portions are connected through tap changer providing changer providing required sequence of primary winding tap connections. Portions of primary and secondary windings are connected in series aiding. EFFECT: increased range of current control. 2 cl, 3 dwg
