FIELD: check-up and preparation of equipment complete with the processing and interpretation apparatus to operation in field conditions by methods of transient processes. SUBSTANCE: models of the medium to be examined and generator - measuring plant are made, their parameters are determined, theoretical values of emf are calculated. All the obtained results are taken as standard ones. Then the medium model is probed by the equipment under test, the measured values are processed and interpreted with the use of the means to be used for processing and interpretation of field data. The theoretical emf curve is also processed. The obtained results are compared with the standard values. The value and kind of errors are determined, and a decision is taken on fitness of the equipment under test and reliability of operation of the data processing and interpretation apparatus. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy.
