FIELD: medicine, food, chemical and biotechnological industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises steps of pumping out gas medium from sterilization chamber, pumping into said chamber medium containing sterilizing agent, exposing products to be sterilized to gas in chamber, followed by neutralizing sterilizing agent at neutralization filter. Said steps of pumping-out and pumping-into gas medium are effected by alternating cycles during products-exposing step. During each cycle gas medium is passed through sterilizing agent generator without replacing gas medium. Neutralization step is effected by multiply passing gas medium through neutralization filter without replacing gas medium until complete neutralization of agent. Gas sterilization apparatus comprises sterilizing agent generator, sterilization chamber, neutralization filter, gas supply mains, control unit, and reversible-type pump-compressor. Sterilization chamber comprises two hermetically sealed compartments intercommunicated by two gas supply mains. One compartment comprises, arranged in series, generator and pump-compressor, while other compartment houses filter provided with valves at its inlet and outlet.
