FIELD: flow-through steam generators with vertical gas where vertical tubes tightly welded together form walls of furnace chamber and carry burners. SUBSTANCE: tubes of such steam generators form walls of furnace chamber and carry burners for fossil fuel. Tubes may be provided with fins on their inner sides forming multi-start thread and be connected in parallel relative to each other for flow of coolant. According to invention, inner diameter d of tubes is function of quotient K and points determined in system of coordinates by pairs of magnitudes of tube diameter d and quotient K lie between curve A and straight line B. Quotient K is formed by total weight rate M of all tubes at 100-percent steam generation divided by perimeter of gas duct in horizontal section through furnace chamber; four determined points lie in curve A which is constantly rising curve. EFFECT: profitability of system for flow-through steam generators at rated power considerably below 500 MW. 4 cl, 3 dwg
