FIELD: production of granulated material. SUBSTANCE: method provides for melting of material, its splitting over surface of cooling medium for separate drops with size smaller than final size. Liquid made of two immiscible layers, upper one of which is buffer layer and lower one is main layer, is used as above medium. Density of buffer layer liquid is less and viscosity is higher than density and viscosity of lower layer. Formation and hardening of drops in the medium is exercised with production of granules and formation of granules till final size is carried out at boundary of immiscible layers of cooling medium. Apparatus has: tank for liquid cooling medium; melt material distributor with perforated bottom made in the form of heating radiator with perforation for drops production, size of which is less than final size of granules, and mounted over tank for liquid cooling medium with air clearance in respect to the medium level; system of discharge and separation of granules. In the case liquid cooling medium is made of two immiscible layers of liquid - upper one is buffer layer and lower one is main layer and density of buffer layer liquid is less and viscosity is higher than density and viscosity of lower layer. EFFECT: improved process. 9 cl, 2 dwg
