FIELD: treatment of fluids. SUBSTANCE: device has pressure-tight housing 1 with inlet means 2 and outlet means 3 for flowing fluid to be treated. Longitudinally extending in the housing is a source 4 of ultraviolet radiation formed as a tube filled with air or inert gas, for instance, xenon. The ends of the tube are secured to the housing end walls by means of seal 5 and nuts 6. The tube has electrodes 7 positioned at the ends of the tube and connected to power source 8 which consists of rectifier 9, energy storage capacitor 10, high pulse generator 11, and control circuit 12.
