FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: rotary internal combustion engine has fixed housing with multiangular working surface, intake and exhaust channels, cavities, enclosing projections, rotor with multiangular working surface placed inside housing on parallel eccentric shafts, sealing arrangements in form of plates placed in slots for contact with cavities of housing to form working chambers together with working surfaces of housing and reactor. Novelty in design of engine is making of combustion chambers which are cylindrical and are arranged at projections at both sides of working surfaces of rotor and housing to form tangential channels. Working chambers are limited, together with surfaces of combustion chambers, by cavities made on one working surface and enclosing projections found on other working surface. Projections have several peaks with slots. Plates fitted in slots are arranged for simultaneous periodical contact of several plates with sealing surfaces of cavities. Engine has additionally a source of working fluid motion, mechanisms to compensate for clearances in sealing arrangements and their control device. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 8 cl, 13 dwg
