FIELD: gas purification technique. SUBSTANCE: gas to be cleaned is brought in contact with stationary adsorbent bed based on vanadium pentoxide applied on porous silica carrier with pore volume 1 cu.cm/g containing sodium and/or potassium pyrosulfates at 250-400 C and molar Na/V and K/V ratios (2-4): 1 and (0-1):1, respectively. Worked out adsorbent is regenerated by contacting with air at 500-650 C with subsequently employing resulting gas stream to produce sulfuric acid. A part of regeneration air is recycled into stationary adsorbent bed. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 4 cl, 1 dwg
