SUBSTANCE: novel compounds namely 2- aminoimidazole and 2-aminothiazole hydrochloride of general formula (I): containing aryl substituent in position 4 and disulfide bridge in position 5 wherein X is alkylamino group, e.g. methylamino, and R¹=R² is hydrogen; X is methylamino group, and R¹ is alkyl, e.g. methyl and R² is hydrogen; X is methylamino group, and R¹ is alkoxy, e. g. methoxy and R² is hydrogen; X is methylamino, and R¹ is ethoxy and R² is hydrogen; X is methylamino, and R¹ is halogen, e.g. chlorine and R² is hydrogen; X is methylamino, and R¹=R² is alkoxy, e.g. methoxy; X is ethylamino, and R¹ is alkoxy e.g. methoxy and R² is hydrogen; X is sulfur, and R¹ is alkoxy, e. g. methoxy and R² is hydrogen; X is sulfur and R¹=R² is alkoxy, e. g. methoxy; X is sulfur, and R¹ is halogen, e.g. fluorine and R² is hydrogen, novel compounds have cytoxic and antitumor activity and show inhibitory effect to some enzymes.
