FIELD: instrumentation engineering, measurement of speed of movement of man or object while examining systems for evacuation of people in case of fire in high-rise structures. SUBSTANCE: device measuring movement incorporates drum with flexible rope wound on it and electric motor, potentiometer and thermostat put on hollow axle inside drum. Shaft of drum is coupled lead screw via first reduction gear over which rope layer moves. Current collector of potentiometer and electric motor are correspondingly coupled via second and third reduction gears to drum and friction clutch.
