FIELD: disinfecting of aqueous media. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has channel for disinfecting medium flow wherein at least two transverse barriers are installed, the first one in downstream direction being spaced from the channel bottom and upper edge of this barrier being located higher than level of flowing liquid. The second barrier, somewhat distanced from the first one, is installed such as to provide its upper edge to be lower than level of flow. The barriers separate inner space of channel into a series of disinfecting sections, each consisting of active and passive zones. Active zone encloses UV radiation sources and passive one is empty. Every time that stream changes direction by 90 deg when rounding barriers, water mass is actively agitated. Additionally installed turbulizers in active zone between UV sources also enhance agitation and turbulization when aqueous medium stream flows through the channel of apparatus.
