FIELD: chemistry; mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: device for water media decontamination includes sealed duct with inlet and outlet nipples and partitions dividing inner volume into a number of sections, with decontamination modules containing irradiation elements and positioned inside the sections. Decontamination modules feature sealed section caps and are positioned in each section, except the first and the last ones. The partitions feature bends directed along the flow course and are fastened in line to the duct bottom and section cap, with the last partition fixed hermetically on the inner duct surface. Ratio of the duct cross-section parts screened by partition and open for water flow is defined by relation of partition height h and open part height b by the formulae: b=(0.25÷1.50)×h; b+h=H, where H is the duct wall height.
EFFECT: increased decontamination efficiency at minimum head and hydraulic friction loss.
