FIELD: preparation of fluoroorganic compounds. SUBSTANCE: trifluoromethanesulfofluoride. is prepared by electrochemical fluorination of compounds dissolved in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. In particular, 4.0-5.5 wt % metanesulfonic acid chloride is subjected to electrolysis. Under voltage 4.5-5.0 V, method allows productivity to be increased by a factor more than 4 with no additional expenses on electrolysis, only owing to optimum amount of electrolyte per unit geometric surface of electrodes (0.20-0.89 g/sq.cm) and reduced loss of trifluoromethanesulfofluoride by about 5% because of its condensing from process gas into solid phase.
