Spherical door 6 is pivotally attached to U-shaped bracket 7 embracing casing 1 and engageable with flexible extensible member 8 and projection 2 of casing 1. When rodent tries to get to bait 11 placed at end part of casing 1, it shifts the center of gravity of casing 1 relative to cutter-type support 3. As a result casing 1 begins to rock and slide on cutter-type support 3 and spherical door 6 strikes against stop 9 to cut off entry into trap. Rodent is destroyed by filling casing 1 with water or is retained alive for other purposes. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 dwg
