FIELD: materials handling; vertical and inclined transportation of different unit loads. SUBSTANCE: slat elevator has traction member with cantilever mounted slats-grips, drive and idle drums, frames, tension gear and electric drive. Traction member is made in form of profiled belt with projections on idle side engaging with recesses made on drive and idle drums. Adjustable, for instance, thyristor electric drive is directly connected with shaft on which drive drum is rigidly secured. Electric drive is made reversible.
