FIELD: urea production. SUBSTANCE: urea is produced via interaction of ammonia with carbon dioxide at high pressure and temperature. Inside reactor, parallel flows of liquid and gas phases are created owing to separation of inner space into compartments to avoid excessive mixing of liquid phase. In this case, redistribution of gas with arising bubbles with required size is provided in order to increase heat exchange and mass transfer between the two phases. When gas moves from one compartment into the next one, liquid and gas phases move separately from each other and are distributed to form continuous flow of each phase. Reactor contains cylindrical apparatus whose inner space is separated with partitions into multiple compartments. The partitions include plates and great number of members with openings of the first and second types having rectangular or trapezoidal cross-section and also two perforated side walls. EFFECT: improved parameters of process. 17 cl, 8 dwg
