FIELD: gasoline production. SUBSTANCE: high-octane ether components are prepared by interaction of methanol with isobutylene in a C4-C5-hydrocarbon mix in presence of catalyst followed by further processing nonreacted C4- hydrocarbons in pyrolysis furnace and combining pyrolysis fractions C4 and higher with starting C4-fraction fed into reactor with methanol.
