FIELD: petrochemical synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of high-octane motor gasoline components. In particular, alcohol is brought into contact with tertiary olefins-containing C4- and/or C5-hydrocarbon fraction in presence of molded ionite catalyst in reaction unit comprising reaction-rectification reactor, wherein catalyst is charged into reaction zone of reaction-rectification reactor by layers, height of each layer not exceeding reaction zone diameter. The latter preferably ranges between 1 and 4 m and catalyst layer height between 1 and 3.5 m.
EFFECT: increased productivity of process.
