SHOCK-PROOF SEISMIC APPARATUS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: shock-absorbing driveless mechanical apparatuses used in erection of earthquake-proof buildings. SUBSTANCE: aim is to expand sphere of apparatus usage in seismically active areas, for example, the apparatus is used in erection of atomic power objects, bridges construction, pylons for high voltage electric lines, rail road electrification masts, etc. Shock-proof apparatus has hermetically sealed cylinder 1, lower flange 2, upper flat flange or ball (spherical) head 3, inner side of which has needle valve 4, union 5 and shutting valve 6 to fill cylinder 1 with compressed air. Inside cylinder there is pig-iron piston 7, operational surface of which and of cylinder 1 itself are covered with powder graphite. Piston has through hole made as nozzle 8. Diameter of narrow section of neck of nozzle 8 is bigger than diameter of cylindrical section of needle valve 4. Shock-proof apparatus is mounted on foundation 9 ( pile head 9) and is welded to inserted member 10. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 2 dwg
