FIELD: powder metallurgy, production of powder-shaped compounds of metals and non-metals; production of oxides, carbides and nitrides of metals used as abrasive material, components of solid alloys, wear-resistant coatings. SUBSTANCE: aim is to increase output of commercial product. Compounds are produced by electrical explosion of metallic blanks in explosion activated medium. Solid substances, in smelt of which before explosion metallic blanks are placed, are used as medium. The blanks are exploded in solidified medium. EFFECT: increased output of commercial product.
