FIELD: organic chemistry and technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of esters from mono- or dicarboxylic acids and mono- or polyatomic alcohols of the general formula: where: X - C12-20H25-41; R1 - C6H4; C2-8H4-16, -CH=CH-; R2 - C11-19; or X - H; R1 - C15-25H30-50; R2 - -CH2OCH2CH2OH, -CH2CH2 -CH2OH, , . High-molecular carboxylic acid esters were synthesized by esterification of the corresponding acids or anhydrides with alcohols of the general formula C12-20H25-41OH. Process is carried out at mole ratio acid : alcohol = 1: (1-2.2), at reaction mass boiling point, formed water is distilled off, in the presence of organic solvent and catalyst - aromatic sulfoacid or acid sulfate. Reaction mass is washed with water and neutralized with alkaline solution taken at 5-20 wt.-% excess of the measured alkali amount for acidity neutralization and calculated for catalyst part. Solvent is removed and the end product is obtained (acid number is 0.6-2.1 mg KOH/g; color: from light-yellow to light-brown), yield is ≥ 95%. Synthesized compounds were used as lubricants, plasticizers for polymers processing, in part, in food and medicinal industry. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
